A Very Short, Always Needed Prayer
September 7, 2017 0 comments
On August 27 we began a new series through Paul's letter to the Colossians, Fullness in Christ.
At the head of this letter, Paul offers a familair greeting, which is a kind of short prayer: "To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father" (1:2). This is more than a well-wish, but a prayer for the full experience of the grace and the peace of Christ that is already theirs. This is a prayer for us as well.
With these words on our mind, this past Sunday we began our service with a song from a greeting similar to this. Here's that song, by Fernando Ortega, from his album of Hymns and Sacred Songs.
If you liked that song, it's becuase Fernando is from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Click here to download the song. For lyrics, open your Bible to 2 Thessalonians 1:2.
