Our Winter/Spring Electives began Sunday, January 14, at 11:00 a.m. There are various classes for you to attend. If you have not done so already, please register on the church life page of our website.
PROJECT LOVING CARE & SCOUTING FOR FOOD
During the month of February, interested members of our church family are invited to participate in demonstrating God’s loving care to young men in vulnerable circumstances. Boy Scout Troop 519 and Pack 519, both sponsored by Heritage Bible Church, are collecting canned and boxed food items as part of the annual Upstate “Scouting for Food” drive. The collected items will be given to the Miracle Hill Boys Shelter located on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville. The organization provides care, education, and guidance for young men ages 11-21.
Beginning Sunday, February 4, a table with baskets will be set up in the North Lobby as a Project Loving Care collection point at Heritage. Types of items to be donated include: soups, beef stew, chili, canned fish and meats, canned vegetables and fruit, peanut butter, instant potatoes, rice, spaghetti, and spaghetti sauce. All food donated should be in unopened original cans, containers, or boxes from the store.
Brothers, our bi-annual Men’s Retreat will be February 23-24 and men of all ages are invited. We’re excited to have Dr. Rick Phillips, pastor of Second Presbyterian Church in downtown Greenville, as our speaker for the weekend. He has written a book titled, The Masculine Mandate, focusing on God’s design and calling for men, and he will be focusing on this during our retreat. Each man who attends will receive a copy of the book.
Friday night, February 23, we’ll meet at Heritage at 6:30 p.m. for a great meal, our first session, and dessert. Saturday, February 24, the retreat will continue at Look Up Lodge in Travelers Rest beginning with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Come enjoy a couple of meals, several sessions, and some afternoon activities, including a giant swing, a low ropes course, and games like corn hole, basketball, pickleball, carpetball, and more. You can even bring your own fishing gear for some catch-and-release fishing in the lake.
Cost for the weekend is $60, but please let one of our church leaders know if the amount would prohibit you from coming. We want as many men as possible to participate. These retreats are great times for a breather—a time to take a few hours away from the normal routine and spend them with brothers around the Word and in some crazy fun. Make plans to join us.
Looking for a place to serve and an opportunity to be a blessing? Our nursery is always in need of additional volunteers to work on a rotational basis. If you are willing to assist in this ministry, please contact Barb Illsley to volunteer to serve our children or to get more information on the opportunity.
CHILDREN’S WING RESTROOM
For organizational and safety purposes, the Children’s Wing restrooms will be reserved for children only on Sunday mornings.
You can give your gifts and offerings to Heritage Bible Church online, if you so choose. We want giving at Heritage to be simple, habitual, and cheerful for our entire church family. We will still take an offering during the worship services, we will still have offering envelopes, and the offering boxes will remain in the lobby. But for some time now a number of you have asked for the option of online giving, and we are happy to provide that for you.
Giving online is easy and allows you to set up automatic recurring contributions and view your complete online giving history from anywhere you have access to the Internet. Simply follow these easy steps:
- Click on the Online Giving in the top right corner of this page
- Click on the Create Profile button, then
- Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contributions.
A Frequently Asked Questions document will answer some of the questions you may have. Thank you for your ongoing financial support of Heritage Bible Church!
