MAY SERMON SERIES: SONGS FOR REAL LIFE
For thousands of years, the Psalms have been the hymnbook of God’s people. But don’t be fooled—these songs weren’t written in cozy studios and premiered in pristine chapels. Most were penned during times of extreme volatility. Affliction and despair. Guilt and sorrow. Celebration and victory. They are songs for real life. Join us each Sunday in May as we “sing" these Psalms to shape and express our wandering hearts.
Registration is open for our Summer Electives that will begin on Sunday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m. Select an 8-week class or two 4-week classes. These classes provide ways to grow in our walk with Jesus and in our relationships with one another.
OPERATION ARCTIC: NEIGHBORHOOD BIBLE DAY CAMP (JUNE 26-29):
Registration is taking place for this summer’s Operation Arctic! Register children who are currently in 1st-5th grades on the HBC website, and sign up in the North Lobby to volunteer for this cool event. Please pray that the Lord will use this to reach many kids and adults in our community. If you would like to pay for a child who cannot afford to come, please contact our Children’s Ministry Director, Kevin Delp. Volunteers for Operation Arctic should attend training sessions on April 30 and May 21 at 11:00 a.m. in The Cave.
Looking for a place to serve and an opportunity to be a blessing? Our nursery is in need of about 21 additional volunteers to work on a rotational basis. We have a number of students who serve, but they will be gone for the summer, so your help would be greatly appreciated! If you are willing to assist in this ministry, please contact Barb Illsley to volunteer to serve our children or to get more information on the opportunity.
CHILDREN’S WING RESTROOM
For organizational and safety purposes, the Children’s Wing restrooms will be reserved for children only on Sunday mornings.
SUNDAY EVENING SCHEDULE REMINDER
Shepherding Groups meet on the 1st and 3rd Sunday evenings, and we have Evening Prayer on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. These are vital opportunities in the life of the church. Don’t miss out on the relationships and encouragement that come through these times.
Only contributions received through our numbered offering envelope system or online are posted to church records. If you are not presently on the envelope system but would like to be, please contact the church office.
You can give your gifts and offerings to Heritage Bible Church online, if you so choose. We want giving at Heritage to be simple, habitual, and cheerful for our entire church family. We will still take an offering during the worship services, we will still have offering envelopes, and the offering boxes will remain in the lobby. But for some time now a number of you have asked for the option of online giving, and we are happy to provide that for you.
Giving online is easy and allows you to set up automatic recurring contributions and view your complete online giving history from anywhere you have access to the Internet. Simply follow these easy steps:
- Click on the Online Giving in the top right corner of this page
- Click on the Create Profile button, then
- Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contributions.
A Frequently Asked Questions document will answer some of the questions you may have. Thank you for your ongoing financial support of Heritage Bible Church!
All regular attenders of HBC who are permanent residents in the Greenville area are encouraged to be included in the HBC database with accurate information. If you are new to Heritage and now consider this your church home or if your contact information has changed, please print and fill out an information form or complete a green information form found in the lobbies. You can turn in your form through an offering box or plate next time you attend. We desire to have all regular attenders included in our database.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Heritage Bible Church, please pick up a packet of information at the Welcome Center, complete the application, and return it through the offering or at the Welcome Center. Participation in the Membership Matters class is also a part of the membership process.
